Life is like a white canvas and it is up to us to paint his or her Masterpiece of his moments on earth.
The quality of each moment and each day is a new brush stroke on your canvas, which will determine the overall quality of your masterpiece.
Focus on each stroke you make even the tiny ones. Therefore, focus on living one day at a time- not projecting your energy into tomorrow or reliving yesterday, but simply living for today.
Try this practice, by Dr. Andrew Weil, each day:
- When you wake up each morning, acknowledge the new day and set an intention to live this day as if it were the only day you had to live.
- Take time throughout the day to ask yourself, “am I living for today or am I worrying about the future or reliving the past?
- If you find yourself thinking about the future or the past, refocus your attention on this day and ask, “What can I do about this today?”
- If there is something you can do immediately, do it. If not, let go of the worry around that and refocus on the present moment.
May every day brings you enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.
Remember that the brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can’t go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
May your Masterpiece be hanged proudly on the walls of your Children’s hearts.
